I like to find out what is happening in your world, why you have come to counselling and what you would like to achieve through counselling. We then make a plan together to achieve these goals and monitor your progress along the way.
I will set tasks and we will explore techniques that will benefit you. I will then give you tasks and techniques to practice and complete each week so by the end of the sessions you have these techniques to continue and practice in your life.

Affordable fees to help you access services. Payment is paid at the end of each session, for a one-hour session. Bulk 6 sessions can be paid at the end of first session (discounted)
regarding Medicare rebate, you will find that you could be paying a lot more for a psychologist even though you get the Medicare rebate, after paying the out-of-pocket expense for a psychologist.
Discounts for seiors and concession card holders
The counsellor's fee is many times cheaper or the same as a psychologist minus the out-of-pocket expenses. Out of pocket expenses for psychologists can range from $87 to $205 per session. Also, you don't need a mental health care plan or see a GP. You can just book in.
Counsellors are future solution focused and work on resolving your issues with strengths-based techniques. not focusing on your past but looking at the present, how we can resolve your issues moving forward.

Counsellors also try to resolve the issues within shorter time frames as we work from a strengths-based perspective. You may find that you are okay with six - 12 sessions and may just need a booster after that, if any issues arise. Or you may want to book in for six sessions and then we review and see how you're going and where you're at, whether you want to book in for further sessions. Depending on your issues and what you are going through and presenting, at the time, everyone has different needs and things going on, it's always based on you and what support you need.
The outcome is always for you to be empowered to be able to continue to use the techniques you learn and continue to do this on your own and reach self-determination and achieve your goals.

Narrative therapy is a form of pscyhotherapy that aims to help externalise a client's problems, so the clients view it as something that's impacting their life. Not who they are as a person. To make space betwen the problem or ssue and the person. To allow the client to see how a challenge is serviing them not harming them.. By re-authoring our life stories focusing on positive interpretation and emotions.
Narrative therapists help the client understand how their problems have been constructed and supported. Enabling then to re-author an alternative narrative story that is aligned with their ideal or preferred identtity or goal (who they wish to become or what they want to attain).

Is a counselling apporach developed by pscychologists William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick. It involves a directive, client - centred counselling approach which aim to help change a clients behaviour by helping them explore and resolve ambivalnce.
Based on beliefs that clients have resistence to change, mixed feelings or contradictory ideas about doing something about change or about someone..
Its a positive optimistic approach targeting esolving this ambivalence by eliciting and reinforcing the talk for change.
Carl Rogers was an American Pscyholost and the founder of the Humanistc Psychology Apporach.
He draws on 3 beliefs:
